Known Medical Treatments for Psoriasis
Health, Technology No Comments »The disturbance associated with having psoriasis can be on its rash and scaly appearance and/or severe and agonizing itch. But regardless of the effect of this skin disease, the need for a treatment to relieve any of these disturbances must be of utmost priority. To date, available treatment procedures include application biological or non-biological therapy agents, or even a combination of the two at some degree. Biological treatment focuses on the abnormal immune cells of psoriasis. Although it is still unknown what causes psoriasis, but the idea of biological treatment proves to be successful in some point. There are two known biological medicines for psoriasis to date – Alfacept can hamper the propagation of abnormal immune cells while Etanercept can restrain the formation of skin breakdown due to abnormal immune cells. On the other hand, non-biological options include topical creams and steroids and phototherapy using UVB or PUVA light exposure. Combination therapy is usually implemented by the application of non-biological agents first, and then proceeds to biological components, especially rativa, which can obstruct the development of psoriasis cells and hopefully restore skin condition.
